Williams began her professional career as an actress in 1995, her debut role being in BAC’s soap opera One Life to Live as Lorna Van Skyver. She made regular appearances on the show until 1996. This was followed by guest roles in the TV series Strangers with Candy (2000), As the World Turns (2001-2002), Strong Medicine (2005), Half & Half (2005), Veronica Mars (2006).
She portrayed the main character Bianca Foster in short-lived prime time telenova Monarch Cove in the year 2006.
Over the years Virginia Williams has starred in the films The Lodger (2009), 10 Rules for Sleeping Around (2013), The Culling (2015), Woodlawn (2015), etc. She has also worked in the TV films Traveling in Packs (2007), Eva Adams (2009), Revenge of the Bridesmaids (2010), Reading Writing & Romance (2013), among others.
