Who is Zoella?

Zoella, whose real name is Zoe Sugg, is a YouTuber, vlogger, entrepreneur, and author. Rooted in YouTube she has launched beauty products under the name Zoella Beauty, a homeware range producing company Zoella Lifestyle, novel Girl Online, which went on to break the record for highest first-week sales of a first-time novelist.

Zoella – Bio, Age, Parents, Siblings

Zoella’s birth took place on 28 March 1990 in Lacock, England. She was born Zoe Elizabeth Sugg to her mother Tracey Sugg and her father Graham Sugg. 

She is not the only child of her parents and has a younger brother named Joseph Sugg, better known as Joe Sugg or Thatcher Joe. Joe is also a famous YouTuber and social media influencer.

Education, Ethnicity

Zoella attended The Corsham School and Arts College where she studied Art, Textile, and photography, graduating with an A grade. 

Her ethnicity is British.

Zoella – Boyfriend, Husband, Children

Zoella has been dating fellow YouTuber Alfie Deyes since October 2012. She and her boyfriend made their relationship public in August 2013. The couple together referred to as Zalfie, got engaged in July 2018. They are yet to marry.

In August 2021, she and her soon-to-be husband welcomed a daughter named Ottilie.

Zoella – Career

Early Career

At the age of 10, Zoella was cast as an extra in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Later on, after graduation, she worked as an interior designer and in retail. 

But neither of her jobs made her happy. So she resumed her vlogging habit, which she had begun at the age of 11. Soon Zoella transitioned to YouTube creating a YouTube channel “Zoella” in February 2009.

Within a year. Her YouTube career took off and she began to add content on fashion beauty and lifestyle. As of October 2019, she has over 11.6 million subscribers on her YouTube channel. Moreover, she has a second YouTube channel MoreZoella which contains mostly vlogs where she updates her viewers on her daily routine.

Collaborations

Over the years Zoella has worked with fellow YouTubers Louise Pentland, Tyler Oakley, Tanya Burr, Alfie Deyes, Troye Sivan, Grace Helbig, etc. She is also best friends with fellow YouTuber Louise Pentland.

Books

In addition to being a vlogger, Zoella is also an author. Her debut book Girl Online, which was published in November 2014, went on to become the fastest-selling book of the year. She went on to publish other books Girl Online: On Tour (October 2015), Girl Online: Going Solo (November 2016), and Cordially Invited (October 2018).

Business

Since her success as a YouTuber, she has turned to business as well. Zoella launched her beauty line, Zoella Beauty in September 2014 followed by Zoella Lifestyle, a collection of homeware products.

However, in March 2019, she announced her decision to terminate the Zoella Lifestyle and Zoella Beauty. Both of the products will be discontinued in 2020.

She also worked with her brother to launch a range of branded merchandise, Sugg Life, in 2016. Moreover, with Alfie Deyes, she founded Brighton-based brand agency A to Z Merchandise and A to Z Creatives in 2018. 

Working with Elsie Larson and Emma Chapman, Zoella launched a mobile photography app Filmm in April 2019.
