Artem Chigvintsev still positive for pneumonia after two weeks

Last Modified: 9th Sep

Artem Chigvintsev won't be getting back to the Dancing With the Stars tour soon.

The 39-year-old announced his departure from the DWTS tour nearly two weeks ago due to “unexpected health issues.”

He clarified the reason for his sudden exit on the Instagram story, “Hi everyone, just wanted to give you a little update on my well-being. So, I had another X-ray done yesterday, and it came back still positive for pneumonia, so I just got another set of antibiotics. This is of course number two.”

Chigvintsev added, “Hopefully, this one will do the magic, will do the trick, to kick out the pneumonia out of my lungs. So that’s where I’m at. I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy.”

Back in January 2022, the star announced he would be stepping away from the DTWS tour.

“My time on tour so far has been wonderful- unfortunately I am having to step away from tour for a while, due to some unexpected health issues. My goal is to recover as quickly as possible so I can rejoin my cast and crew on this incredible tour. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”

Artem Chigvintsev’s wife, WWE star Nikki Bella, seems to be very supportive of her husband’s decision. She commented a simple red heart on the departure announcement post.

Nikki Bella and Artem Chigvintsev have been together since 2019. They elevated their relationship and got engaged in November 2020. Their first child- Matteo is now 18 months.

Back in September 2021, Matteo accidentally broke his father’s Dancing With the Stars trophy- which Bella hilariously shared on Instagram.

“Dada we are so proud of you!” Bella wrote on Instagram, “Go do what you do best tonight!! We are manifesting for you! Back to back champ baby! We love you so much … Teo and I will get your trophy fixed!!! Lol, Oooppss ha! We gotta strong boy here!!”
