Barbara Bush and husband Craig Coyne welcome first child together
Former President George W. Bush is a grandpa!
Barbara Bush welcomed her first child with her husband Craig Coyne on Monday- a baby girl named Cora.
On Wednesday, the statement by President George W. Bush via Twitter account George W. Bush Presidential Center read:
“With full hearts, Laura and I are delighted to announce the birth of our new granddaughter. Barbara gave birth to Cora Georgia Coyne on September 27, 2021, in Maine — not far from our family home where Barbara and Craig were married.”
“Cora is healthy and adorable, and we are proud and grateful.” the presidential center also replied to The Bush Center on Twitter.
Barbara, 39, has always been secretive about her relationship with Coyne and was never photographed together at public events prior to their wedding day, which falls in 2018.
Barbara’s twin sister, Jenna Bush Hager, also took to Instagram to share her excitement about the new family member.
“Dearest Cora Georgia, Today is the day I got to meet my most beautiful, precious, feisty, niece (a bit earlier than we expected!) I witnessed in awe as my dearest, toughest @barbara.p.bush became a mama. And today is the day I fell in love! Some cousins are anxiously waiting to play with you, but not just yet love. Xx auntie j,” Jenna, who has three kids of her own, wrote on Instagram.
