Britney Spears’ ex-husband Jason Alexander attends ‘Free Britney’ protest
Britney Spears’ ex-husband and childhood friend Jason Alexander was spotted at a “Free Britney” protest in Los Angeles this week. The pair were married for three days in January 2004.
According to a Spears-fan Twitter account, Alexander was present Wednesday outside the Los Angeles courthouse. Spears’ conservatorship is being litigated at the Los Angeles courthouse. The singer has been under forced conservatorship since 2008 and now fans are accusing her team of malpractice.
In an Instagram live video, Jason Alexander said, “She definitely wants her dad out of the picture as far as the conservatorship.” According to Newsweek Alexander revealed, “She’s really been a prisoner. She’s been playing along with the script, but kind of waiting it out.”
The filing reads that the 38-year-old mother of two is “strongly opposed to having [Jamie] return as the conservator of her person,” and “strongly prefers” that her care manager, Jodi Montgomery, “continue in that role as [she] has done for nearly a year.”
Montgomery had taken over the role of 67-year-old Jamie Spears after ongoing colon problems and an altercation with his grandson, Sean Preston. And due to the ongoing pandemic, Montgomery’s role as Britney’s temporary conservator was extended until Aug. 22 while Britney Spears’ mother Lynne Spears filed documents that requested the ability to be involved in her daughter’s finances.
