“Ellen” star Sophia Grace got her mom to share pregnancy news with dad

Sophia Grace Brownlee, who rose to fame appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, shared how she told her parents about her teenage pregnancy before going public about the big news.

The 19-year-old revealed that after some warming up, both her parents eventually became “really happy” that they were going to be grandparents.

In an interview with E! News, the child star turned social media influencer said, “The first person that actually knew was my mom. My mom's reaction obviously, at the start, was a little bit like, ‘Oh wow.' But she just got used to it straight away and she was always really happy and excited about it."

When asked she also went into detail about how she broke the news to her father.

“Just in any normal family, it's sort of a hard thing to tell your dad—when you're a girl—that you're pregnant, and I'm sure people understand it can be a little bit awkward. We were trying to think of a way to tell my dad and, eventually, I just got my mom to tell him because I couldn't face doing it myself," Brownlee admitted.

She continued to explain what she had expected to hear from her father.

“I thought he might be like, ‘Maybe you're a bit young,' or something because I am quite young. It's not really about age. It's just depending on whether you feel ready or not—and I think I definitely feel ready."

Now, she is ready to start a new chapter in her life with the support of her family. Sophia Grace Brownlee also revealed that her family has been buying clothes and other gifts for the baby.

In addition to immediate family, Brownlee had “one of the most happiest moments” after showing a sonogram to her cousin Rosie McClelland, 16.

“Honestly, it was literally one of the most happiest moments ever. She [Rosie] was just so happy because we've been so close our whole life and we literally have done everything together. I'm going into a new chapter and obviously, she's going to be the best cousin ever. I'm so excited for her to meet the baby," she added.

Sophia Grace Brownlee and Rosie McClelland are well known for their childhood appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Back in 2011, the duo was invited on the show to perform their rendition of Nicki Minaj’s Super Bass.
