Ex-Pussycat Dolls Kaya Jones claims forced abortion while in pop group

Last Modified: 9th Sep

Kaya Jones, a former member of the girl pop group Pussycat Dolls, has claimed that she was forced to terminate a pregnancy in order to remain in the band.

During an interview with Fox Nation’s Tucker Carlson Today, Jones alleged, “I was told to get rid of it.”

And when she was asked who pushed the abortion, she replied, “The powers that be.”

Jones also added that she succumbed to the pressure as she felt she was at the “height” of her career and “not wanting to lose [her] job.”

The 38-year-old also alleged that if other Pussycat Dolls were to get pregnant, they would be “fired.” She continued that she “got rid” of her child “in between rehearsals.”

Jones also claimed that while performing at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas with the group, she was “hemorrhaging,” “losing” her baby while being told how “fat” she was all at the same time.

“It’s to control you,” the former singer said.

While pointing out that the majority of the Pussycat Dolls do not have children, they added that they too may have been subjected to “the pressures and the forcing abortions.”

There have been no other claims of public claims of being forced to have abortions by other Pussycat Dolls members.

This is not the first time Jones has been critical of the pop group. Back in 2017, she had claimed in her tweets that the girl group was a “prostitution ring.”

Antin, 61, had shot back at the 2017 claims calling them “disgusting, ridiculous lies” and Jones was “clearly looking for her 15 minutes” of fame.

The Pussycat Dolls also released a joint statement at the time, “To liken our professional roles in The Pussycat Dolls to a prostitution ring not only undermines everything we worked hard to achieve for all those years but also takes the spotlight off the millions of victims who are speaking up and being heard loud and clear around the world.”

However, the group did say it was unaware of Jones’s “experiences” at the time but will look into them.

“If Kaya experienced something we are unaware of then we fully encourage her to get the help she needs and are here to support her. Should any member or associate allude to any form of abuse or harassment whatsoever, it will be taken very seriously and investigated,” the statement continued.

Other former members of the Pussycat Dolls include Nicole Scherzinger, Melody Thornton, Jessica Sutta, and Ashley Roberts. The pop group was founded by choreographer Robin Antin. Kaya Jones had a brief stint with the group from 2003 to 2004 – which lasted a couple of months.

Jones had left the group before the pop group gained worldwide success with two studio albums released in 2005 and 2008. The group eventually disbanded in 2010.

The girl group tried to make a comeback in 2020 for a reunion tour. But after its cancellation, they sued former frontwoman, Nicole Scherzinger.
