“I got into sex industry” ‘Uncut Gems’ star Julia Fox was dominatrix in high school
The year 2019 is the breakout year for the model, photographer turned actress Julia Fox. The 29-year-old rising has been getting a lot of praise for her big-screen debut in the movie Uncut Gems alongside actor Adam Sandler.
The role has landed her a breakout actress nomination at the Gotham Awards.
Julia Fox, who portrays the character Julia, a feisty jewelry saleswoman who is having an affair with her gambling addict boss, revealed in an interview with Hollywood Reporter that she worked in the sex industry “doing S&M stuff.”
"I worked at a shoe store on 86th Street called Orva, in the hosiery department because nobody went there. That's where they put me because I was too incapable of doing anything. Then I worked in an ice cream shop and a pastry shop. Then I got into the sex industry, doing S&M stuff.”
She went on to explain,
“I heard about another girl who was doing it and that there was no sex or nudity. It was role-playing.”
Fox, 29, also shared that she had staged an art show with paintings using her own blood.
Before her acting career took off, she had directed a short film Fantasy Girls, which is about a group of teenage girls living in Reno, Nevada, and sex trafficking.
