Idris Elba tested positive for coronavirus! wife Sabrina Dhowre also infected?

Actor Idris Elba has been the latest celebrity to announce that he has tested for coronavirus.

The 47-year-old actor revealed on 16 March via social media about his diagnosis.

With his wife Sabrina Dhowre, 30, he shared, “This morning I tested positive for Covid 19. I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing. No panic.”

The Luther star went on to tell that “It sucks” and revealed that his wife has not been tested, “Sabrina hasn’t been tested and she’s doing OK.”

“I got tested because I realized I was exposed to someone who also tested positive. I found out last Friday they tested positive and quarantined myself immediately and got the results back today,” Idris Elba continued, “We’ve told our families, they are very supportive. We’ve told our colleagues and, you know, transparency is probably the best thing for this right now. This is real”

He also encouraged fans and viewers to really think about “social distancing” and make sure they are washing their hands.

Following Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who were the first celebrities to reveal they had tested positive for Covid-19, celebrities including Rachel Matthews, and Kristofer Hivju have also revealed their diagnosis.
