Jessie J hospitalized 2 months after breast cancer diagnosis

Jessie J has shared her recent hospitalization after “finding it hard to breathe in.”

The health issue came just two months after she revealed her early breast cancer diagnosis and surgery.

“Six weeks post-surgery, and I was back in the same ward I was after my surgery. Not expected or planned,” the Bang Bang hitmaker shared via Instagram stories – alongside a picture of her on a hospital bed, plugged into IVs.

“I had, and still have, symptoms that pointed towards a blood clot on the lung. IT IS NOT A BLOOD CLOT, THANK GOD,” she continued.

The Grammy Award winner also disclosed that her doctors ran several tests and suspected she had “a little fluid” in her lungs as well as an unknown infection.

“Finding it hard to breathe in, but I discharged myself last night. I hate being in [the] hospital,” Jessie, 37, disclosed.

In a follow-up post, the singer defended her decision to discharge herself from the hospital.

“I know many people who will have gone through this or similar may agree with me or not, and that’s OK. know, for me, the true hard journey of this whole thing physically was the day I went into surgery. The recovery, physically, is far from quick or easy,” she confessed.

The Domino singer also expressed her “challenging time” was “being unable to be the mother I usually am” to her two-year-old son, Sky.

“And having to change the plans for my career for this year has been frustrating after working so hard to get to this point, and excited to do it all. It’s life, I know that.”

Speaking of her “all clear” diagnosis, which she describes as “incredible,” she explained, “But that result didn’t speed up or make the recovery from the surgery any easier physically. This isn’t a speedy recovery, and it isn’t meant to be.”

“That slow pace has been a hard reality to accept. I love moving and working and being up and active, but I can’t be right now, and that’s what it is. I am finding the strength in knowing that all can be adjusted to align with a slower pace and the support of my very small inner support circle,” Jessie said.

In June 2025, the Price Tag hitmaker revealed her breast cancer diagnosis on social media.

“Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early,’” she shared in an emotional video at the time.

Speaking of her upcoming surgery, she had shared, “It’s a very dramatic way to get a boob job. I will come back with massive tits and more music.”

She updated her followers on her successful surgery, which was performed on June 23, adding that all of the cancerous mass had been removed.
