Lady Rose Hanbury ‘upset’ by Prince William affair rumors
Lady Rose Hanbury has become fed up by rumors circulating that she had an affair with Prince William, according to reports.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Royal expert Nick Bullen defended the British model, “I know people who know the Marchioness of Cholmondeley very, very well, and she absolutely was not having an affair with the Prince of Wales. Even when those rumors broke a few years ago, she was very upset by them then. She’s still very upset by them now.”
The 40-year-old’s husband David Cholmondeley, 63, also defended his wife of 14 years earlier this week – with her lawyer saying that the rumors “are completely false.”
While the rumors of Hanbury and 41-year-old Prince Williams’ affair began back in 2019, their alleged affair resurfaced after Princess of Wales Kate Middleton, 42, underwent abdominal surgery in January 2024.
Since the surgery, Middleton’s continuous absence from the spotlight has led to the internet jumping to conclusions after her marriage to William, Prince of Wales.
TV host Stephen Colbert even addressed the rumors on The Late Show, “The kingdom has been all aflutter by the seeming disappearance of Kate Middleton. Well now, internet sleuths are guessing that Kate’s absence may be related to her husband and the future king of England, William, having an affair.”
The comedian joked, “So, I think we all know who the alleged other woman is. Say it with me –– the Marchioness of Cholmondeley –– what a beautiful name! According to tabloids back then, when Kate supposedly confronted him about it, he laughed it off, saying there was nothing to it. Always a good response when your wife accuses you of cheating.”
Meanwhile, representatives for Middleton stated that she was recovered from “planned abdominal surgery” and has plans to return to her public duties around Easter.
The Princess of Wales has begun to make a comeback. She made her first public appearance since her surgery over the weekend. She was pictured with her husband at a local farm shop as they appeared relaxed in casual wear.
Hours before the event, the royal couple were seen watching their children - Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5, participate in sporting matches.
The outing comes weeks after Middleton posted a heavily edited photo of herself with her kids on March 10.
