Peta Murgatroyd is pregnant with her rainbow baby.

The 36-year-old Dancing With the Stars pro announced the good news on Friday that she and her 42-year-old husband Maksim Chmerkovskiy are expecting a rainbow baby after multiple miscarriages and one round of IVF.

She continued, “After 2 years of constant struggle and heartache, 3 miscarriages, and a failed embryo transfer…we have a healthy bun in the oven.”

“It was a shock to all of us and we found out right before I was going in for my second round of IVF.” she revealed.

“This news has brought extraordinary bliss to our family and we have so much to be grateful for,” she concluded. “….coming June 2023.”

Murgatroyd and Chmerkovskiy became parents for the first time after their son Shai was born in January 2017. They have always been vocal about expanding their family and giving Shai a sibling.

Back in June 2022, she revealed that they had struggled to conceive a new baby and her first miscarriage was in a Whole Foods bathroom in 2020.

She told People, “I was sitting in the bathroom sobbing. That was something that will probably live with me for the rest of my life, being on that toilet by myself, knowing what was happening and not being able to stop it.”

“I never thought that two healthy, athletic people could be in a predicament like this,” Chmerkovskiy who was also upset about their losses told People. “It’s a lot to process.”

The couple did not give up hope and although Murgatroyd had been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, she underwent an egg retrieval in June 2022 to begin the IVF process.

She updated her Instagram followers on her ICF journey, “We retrieved 40 eggs out of 27 follicles. One nurse said it was the highest number she’d seen. Keep your fingers crossed everyone that we have a few little Chmerkovskiy’s waiting for us soon!”

“There should be — fingers crossed — a pregnancy pretty soon. This is the path for us,” Peta Murgatroyd shared the exciting news with Entertainment Tonight.

Sadly, the process did not work, which she revealed the next month.
