‘Saved by the Bell’ star Dustin Diamond confirms cancer diagnosis
Actor Dustin Diamond of Saved by the Bell fame has confirmed cancer battle- days after an emergency hospitalization. He shared the news via his official Facebook account on Thursday evening.
The official statement read, “At this time we can confirm that Dustin does have cancer. Dustin Will disclose more information once it is available and a plan moving forward is made.”
“We ask everyone to respect Dustin’s privacy during this difficult time. All positivity and prayers are appreciated,” the statement concluded.
The 44-year-old was hospitalized after suffering widespread pain and discomfort. His mother died of breast cancer.

Diamond first gained attention as he appeared as Samuel “Screech” Powers in 1988’s Good Morning, Miss Bliss. His role continued in the series Saved by the Bell: The New Class and Saved by the Bell: The College Years was his breakthrough role. He returned to Bayside High School as Principal Belding's assistant in The New Class episodes.
