“I had a severe stroke this am. I started breaking down crying when they told me,” Cori wrote over a picture of herself lying on a hospital bed.

“Like I’m only 24 what did I do in my past to deserve all of this,” she questioned in another follow-up post.

The entrepreneur did not provide additional details on her health condition. However, it is known that she was diagnosed with lupus at the age of 6.

According to the Lupus Foundation of America, Lupus is an autoimmune disease. In this condition, the body system that is meant to fight off infections attacks healthy host tissue instead. This can result in “inflammation and pain in any part of the body including the joints, kidneys, skin, blood cells, brain, lungs and heart” and is a lifelong condition.

Since the autoimmune disease can affect many organs, it can also increase the risk of stroke.

There is no cure developed for Lupus. The most common course of treatment is administration of anti-inflammatory medicines.

Cori has been open about her struggles with mental and physical health in the past.

Back in May 2021, via Instagram, she admitted to having attempted suicide.

“I’ve always been sad. I’ve always been depressed. I feel like I’ve been through a lot,” she shared at the time.

“I’ve been sick, I am sick. It’s a lot. Body hurting, you’re just in pain, and you’re so young you’re like, ‘What is happening to me? What is going on?’ And then you look at your brothers and your other family members like, ‘Why me?’ Not saying I wish they had it, but why me? Why am I going through this? Why did God choose me?” she added.

In September 2023, Cori revealed she had changed her course of treatment and opted for holistic options.

She told People at the time, “I stopped taking all of my medication like five months ago. I’m just doing everything natural, all types of herbs, sea moss, and teas. I started working out and drinking lots of water. So now I think my body’s like, ‘OK, this is the new program, and she’s getting used to it.’”

She further explained her decision, “I've had medication since I was 6 years old, depending on these drugs all my life. So I wanted better for myself. I wanted to change because it just became a lot. I'm only 24 years old, taking 10 to 12 pills every single day. So I kind of just went cold Turkey.”

Cori is currently engaged to her boyfriend Wayne Duece since November 2022.
