Tristan Thompson's paternity suit- third child with personal trainer Maralee Nichols
Sacramento Kings player Tristan Thompson’s third child with Houston-based personal trainer Maralee Nichols brought a high-profile court case. Their baby boy was born on Thursday- days after the suit went public.
The new mom alleged that the child was conceived on Thompson’s 30th birthday in March 2021 while he was still dating Khloé Kardashian.
Thompson did acknowledge being intimate with Nichols at a hotel several times after attending a party while attorneys for Nichols claim their fling began at least “five months” before his 30th birthday with her traveling to California on multiple occasions and continued after conceiving.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, the NBA star used his middle name of Trevor instead of Tristan in the said paternity lawsuit against Nichols in July, just weeks after she served him legal papers of child support. He was also seeking a DNA test once the child is born and the case to be fought in Texas instead of California.
In the released text from Thompson to Nichols, he wrote, “You know how I feel. My feelings haven’t changed at all. Won’t be involved at all. Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong."
He continued, "You are aware that I’m retiring after this season. So in terms of support it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who’s unemployed. It’s Texas so it will be only a couple hundred dollars. So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemployed.”
Thompson is also a father to a 4-year-old son named Prince Thompson with model ex Jordan Craig and a 3-year-old daughter True Thompson with Khloé Kardashian.
The athlete and reality star have had an on-and-off relationship with them breaking up mostly after Thompson’s cheating rumors and alleged affairs.
Thompson had filed an emergency motion for a confidentiality order and a motion to seal the file in November. The requested confidentiality order was granted while his motion to seal the records was denied.
In July 2021, he and Kardashian had broken up once again after Instagram model Sydney Chase alleged they had slept together in an April interview.
