Childers began her professional career as an actress in 2000 with a minor role in the TV series L.A. 7, and in films Carolina (2003), Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003).

In 2006, Ambyr Childers landed her breakthrough role as Colby Chandler in the series All My Children. She was a series regular until 2008, with 139 episode appearances.
