Andrea Riseborough’s birth took place on 20 November 1981 in Wallsend, England. She was born Andrea Louise Riseborough to her father George Riseborough, a car salesman, and her mother Isabel Johnson, a secretary/beautician.
She is not the only child of her parents and has a sister named Laura Riseborough, who is also an actress. Both were raised in Whitley Bay.

For education, Andrea Riseborough attended Newcastle upon Tyne Church High School. Following graduation, she went on to study at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). She graduated from the same in 2005.

Andrea Riseborough has been in a committed relationship with her boyfriend Joe Appel, a street artist. The couple had started dating in 2008 after meeting at the premiere of a Woody Allen film in Los Angeles. They separated and eventually broke up in 2016.
In December 2020 it was reported that she began dating her Luxor co-star Karim Saleh after they fell in love while filming.
Currently, she is unmarried, sans husband, and children, and as she has never married, divorce is out of context.

Early Career
Riseborough’s interest in acting began at an early age. She landed the opportunity to be at the People's Theatre’s production of Riding England Sidesaddle as Celia Fiennes. Moreover, she was a member of the Young People's Theatre for five years which led her to a tour with the National Youth Theatre.
Andrea Riseborough made her screen debut in the TV movie A Very Social Secretary as Amanda in 2005. This led her to land supporting roles in the TV series Doc Martin (2005), Party Animals (2007), and in the films, Magicians (2007), and Love You More (2008), among others.
