Who is Bill Kaulitz?

Bill Kaulitz, also known as Billy, is a singer, songwriter, model, fashion designer, and voice actor by profession, and German by nationality. 

He and his twin brother Tom Kaulitz are members of the rock band Tokio Hotel, alongside bassist Georg Listing, and drummer Gustav Schafer.

Bill Kaulitz’s birth took place on September 1, 1989, in Leipzig, Germany. He was born Bill Kaulitz-Trumper to his father Jorg Kaulitz and his mother Simone Kaulitz. 

He is not the only child of his parents and has an identical twin brother - Tom Kaulitz who is 10 minutes older than him. For education, he attended Elector Joachim Friedrich High School.

Education, Ethnicity

When Kaulitz was 7 years old, his parents divorced and his mother went on to date Gordon Trumper, guitarist of the German rock band Fatun. After 12 years of dating his mother married Gordon on 1 August 2009.

His ethnicity is German.

There have been speculations about Kaulitz’s sexuality and questions have been raised as to ask if he is gay.

In a 2014 article with sheknows, Bill Kaulitz answered the questions, “I feel like it drives people nuts not to know if there is a woman or a man in my bed. That’s why I’ve been getting the “gay question” ever since I turned 13 when I started giving interviews. I always wondered… why does that even matter? I thought I was here to sing and perform for people?”

Kaulitz was in a relationship with his girlfriend Natalie Franz, Rach L in 2008. He was also rumored to have dated Kim Paradise in 2008.

Although we consider him to be a single man, a secret affair cannot be ruled out.

Bill Kaulitz – Career

Early career

At a young age, Bill Kaulitz showed an interest in singing, which was noticed by Trumper. He helped the Kaulitz twins to start their own band and they had begun writing music at the age of 7.

The Kaulitz twins were just 10 years old when they started living in Magdeburg performing but the band lacked a drummer and bass player. Eventually, when Bill Kaulitz was 12 years old, he and Tom Kaulitz met bassist Georg Listing (then 14), and drummer Gustav Schafer (then 13). They named themselves Devilish, which was later renamed Tokio Hotel.

But the band did not gain much success, except for a TV appearance on a small-time German news program between late 2002 and early 2003. Bill Kaulitz stepped up and auditioned on Star Search, a reality TV show, which got them recognized.

Albums

In 2005  Tokio Hotel signed with Universal Music Group's Interscope Records and released their debut LP Schrei the same year. The single, Durch den Monsun, from the LP, reached number 1 in Germany followed by the second album Zimmer 483 in February 2007. The band soon became a household name and they yearned for international attention.

So they released their debut English album, titled Scream in Europe (mid-2007) and in Western countries (mid-2008). This was followed by the release of albums Humanoid (October 2009), Kings of Suburbia (214), and Dream Machine (2017). Tokio Hotel has also released compilation albums Best Of TH (2010), Darkside of the Sun (2011), 2 live albums, 3 EPs, and has had around 7 tours.

Others

Bill Kaulitz lent his voice of Arthur in Arthur und die Minimoys. In 2010 he also started to model and worked as a jury member in the 10th season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar.

As a fashion designer, he has designed clothes for Magdeburg -Los Angeles, shortly known as MDLA.

Bill Kaulitz – Stalking

In late 2008-early 2009, several women stalked the Kaulitz twins. They even followed Tom Kaulitz to their parent's home in Germany and attacked their mother.

And in April 2009 Tom Kaulitz hit one of the stalkers at a gas station and drove off. The girl charged him with assault and he, in turn, filed a complaint against the girl on grounds of stalking. In December 2009 the charges against Tom were lifted.

His net worth is estimated to be over $30 million dollars while his annual salary is under review.
