Who is Carli Lloyd?
Carli Lloyd is a soccer/football player by profession and American by nationality. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, a 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup champion, a three-time Olympian, and a two-time FIFA Player of the Year.

Carli Lloyd’s birth took place on July 16, 1982, in Delran Township, New Jersey, USA. She was born as Carli Anne Lloyd to father Stephen Lloyd and mother Pamela Lloyd. She was raised by her parents in Delran Township along with two siblings- brother Stephen Lloyd Jr. and sister Ashley Lloyd.

Carli Lloyd – Career
College games
Carli Lloyd started playing soccer at the age of five and continued through college. While at the university, she played for the Scarlet Knights women's soccer team where she became the school's all-time leader with 117 points, 50 goals, and shots.
Club career
From 1999 to 2004, Carli Lloyd played for W-League teams Central Jersey Splash and later on for South Jersey Banshees. She played for Chicago Red Stars in the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) years, i.e. from 2009 to 2011.
On January 11, 2013, she joined Western New York Flash in the new National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). She played for the year until 2014. From 2015 to 2017, Lloyd was a team member of the Houston Dash. She left Houston Dash in 2017.
The same year in February 2017, Carli Lloyd joined Manchester City on loan to play in the FA WSL Spring Series. On January 18, 2018, she was traded to Sky Blue FC, where she holds the position of Midfielder.

International games
Carli Lloyd represented the United States at the under-21 level before making her way to the senior team at the age of 23. In the senior team, she has played for the United States women's national soccer team.
Moreover, Lloyd has played in the Algarve Cup (2007, 2011), FIFA Women's World Cup (2007, 2011, 2015), and Olympics (2008, 2012), where she won two gold medals.
She has also released a memoir and supports the Stand Up to Cancer organization.

After victory in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, Carli Lloyd along with her teammates was honored with a ticker tape parade, making them the first women's sports team to receive such an honor. Each player also received a key to the city from Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The same year the team was honored by President Barack Obama at the White House.
