Caspar Lee’s birth took place on 24 April 1994 in London, England. He was born Caspar Richard George Lee to his mother Emily Riordan Lee and father Jonathan Lee. He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling, an older sister Theodora Lee, who is also a YouTuber. Both were raised in Knysna and Durban, South Africa.

Caspar Lee started his YouTube channel in 2011. His first name is channel dicasp, which he later renamed Caspar. After his YouTube career began to take off he moved to London to live with English blogger and writer Alfie Deyes.
As his YouTube subscribers began to multiply, his content also increased. Lee included vlogs, collabs, challenges, reaction videos as well and storytelling in his YouTube channel. As of January 2020, Caspar Lee has over 7.2 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.
