Who is Chip Wade?

Chip Wade is a designer, TV show host, contractor by profession, and American by nationality. He is best known for hosting HGTV and DIY shows.

Chip Wade – Birth, Parents, Siblings

Chip Wade was born on September 20, 1982, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, as Darryl “Chip” Wade. The details of his early life, including the names of his parents and siblings, are yet to be shared with the public. He comes from a long line of experienced carpenters and wood craftsmen, and he, too, began working with his father at a young age.

Education, Ethnicity

After graduating from high school, Chip Wade went on to study at the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2005.

His ethnicity is not known.

Wade married his longtime girlfriend Pauli on August 25, 2006, after years of dating. With his wife, he has three children- sons Mac Wade (born Sept 2008), JT (born Nov 2013), and daughter Mara Wade (born Aug 2011).

The couple seems to be very happy and often shares moments of their day-to-day life on social media. Also, there is no news of extra-marital affairs and divorce surrounding the pair. They currently reside in North Atlanta, raising their family.

Chip Wade – Career

Early Days

While still an undergrad student, Wade also attended Co-op Tech and worked full-time for two straight years. He started out as an electrical engineer and designed fighter aircraft. He eventually moved on with his true passion- construction and design. Chip Wade began work as a structural engineer for a custom home builder.

On TV

While still holding the position of structural engineer, Chip Wade was cast as a contractor on the TV show. His love for design, carpentry, landscaping, and renovation was a major factor that earned him the show.

In 2007, Chip Waderansitioned into media, showing his carpentry skills in HGTV’s Designed to Sell. He also works as a contractor, host as well as a designer for the Atlanta team. 

Since then, he has appeared on HGTV’s Curb Appeal: The Block, Ellen’s Design Challenge, HGTV’s Showdown, HGTV’s Design Star, HGTV’s Wise Buys, Oprah, DIY, and CNN. 

Now, Chip Wade is the founder and owner of Wade Works Creative LLC, a design-build firm where he has clients all over the country.
