Who is David Muir?
David Muir is an American journalist and anchor. He currently is the co-anchor of ABC News magazine 20/20 and the anchor and managing editor of ABC World News Tonight.

David Muir’s birth took place on November 8, 1973, in Syracuse, New York, USA. He was born David Jason Muir to parents Ronald Muir and Pat Mills. He was raised along with his sibling- older sister Rebecca Muir who runs a farm called Schoolhouse Farms in Borodino, New York. He also has two younger step-siblings.
Education, Ethnicity
For studies, David Muir attended the Onondaga Central Junior-Senior High School and graduated from same in May 1991. He went on to study at the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. From there too, he graduated magna cum laude in May 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism.
For higher education, Muir also enrolled at the Institute on Political Journalism at the Fund for American Studies at Georgetown University and the University of Salamanca’s Institute for the International Education of Students.
His ethnicity includes Sicilian/Italian, English, Scottish, Irish, and German.

David Muir is an unmarried man, although he was listed as one of People Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive in 2014. In fact, there have been no known romantic linkups with women, resulting in speculation that he might be gay. In May 2018 he tweeted that his partner works every night in the TV studio Grrrl Studio.
However, Muir has not addressed these rumors. He may not have a wife and children at the moment but he loves to spend time with family, especially his six nieces and three nephews.

Early Days
Muir wanted to become a journalist since he was a 10-year-old boy. He even skipped playing with friends to watch the 6 p.m. show and credits anchor Peter Jennings as his biggest influence to take up journalism.
David Muir started working at WTVH television from 1994 to 2000 as an anchor as well as a reporter. From 2000 to 2003, he worked for WCVB television, Boston as an anchor and reporter.
Career progresses
David Muir joined ABC News in August 2003. He worked as an anchor of World News Now. Soon he was the anchor of World News This Morning (America This Morning) followed by anchoring World News Saturday from June 2007.

Since then he has anchored for ABC's 20/20 and ABC's The View as a guest co-host. In 2014, Muir succeeded Diane Sawyer as the anchor and managing editor of ABC World News. It was reported in April 2015 that World News Tonight with David Muir became the country's most-watched evening newscast
Throughout his career, he has reported critical news from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Israel, Gaza Strip, Peru, Ukraine, Haiti, Egypt, Fukushima, and Iran. In November 2012, David Muir served as one of ABC’s lead correspondents for the U.S. Presidential election.
