Who is Jeff Austin?
Jeff Austin was a singer, mandolinist by profession, and American by nationality. He was well-known as a member of the Yonder Mountain String Band.

Jeff Austin was born on April 25, 1974, in Arlington Heights, Illinois, USA. He was born Jeffery Austin to his mother Eileen Austin and brought up in Elk Grove, Illinois. Other details about him including his parents, siblings, and childhood are yet to be shared. However, we do know that he grew up without a father.

There he attended Rolling Meadows High School and after graduation went on to study at the University of Cincinnati. But he soon moved to Urbana, Illinois.

Austin is a happily married man with his girlfriend-turned-wife Devlyn Austin. However, we do know that he is a father of three- two daughters and a son.
His older daughter is named Lily Rose Austin while his younger daughter, named Penelope Eileen Austin was born on 25 January 2014. The couple’s son Jude Patrick Austin was born on Sep 21, 2016.
Until his death, he was happy with his wife and was living without rumors of extra-marital affairs or divorce.

Early career
After moving to Urbana, Illinois Jeff Austin met Dave Johnston, a banjo player. From Johnston, he received a request to perform in his band The Bluegrassholes and learned to play the mandolin.
In Nederland, Jeff Austin met Adam Aijala and Ben Kaufman and formed the band Yonder Mountain String Band. In early 2014 he was absent from the band’s performance as his daughter had just been born.
After successful years in the band, Austin left in 2014 citing creative differences and conflicting career goals. The band soon dissolved.

Solo Career
Soon after Jeff Austin began a solo career and released a debut solo album Yep Roc Records on February 10, 2015. Over the last two decades of his career, he has also toured endlessly.
Years ago in March of 2004, Jeff Austin released a full-length studio album with Chris Castino titled Songs from the Tin Shed. In February 2006, he recorded a live album Rex (Live at the Fillmore) under the band name Grateful Grass.
And in 2010 Jeff Austin formed a group 30db with Brendan Bayliss and released the album One Man Show on May 11, 2010. He also has theme music credits for the documentary, I Know That Voice.

He has collaborated with Cody Dickinson, Todd Snider, Jennifer Hartswick, Brendan Bayliss, Sarah Siskind, etc.
Jeff Austin – Death
In June 2019 rumors started on social media that Jeff Austin had died due to suicide. These rumors turned out to be a hoax. Austin and shared on Facebook,
“My friends… due to a to a medical emergency I am unfortunately unable to play my sets next week at ROMP music festival, Back Home Appalachian Arts & Music Festival, and Smoky Run Music Festival. Thanks for your understanding and continued support.”
However, it was reported on June 25, 2019, that he had died but the nature of his medical emergency is yet to be shared. His booking manager, Barron Ruth, confirmed Austin's death. He had passed away after being put into a medically induced coma.
