Who is Leah Lewis?

Leah Lewis is an actress, singer by profession, and American by nationality. She is well known for starring as Ellie Chu in the Netflix film The Half of It and in Nancy Drew as Georgia "George" Fan.

Leah Lewis’ birth took place on December 9, 1997, in China. She was adopted from a Chinese orphanage by her adoptive mother, Lorraine Wenz Lewis, and adoptive father, Fred Lewis, at eight months of age. Her full name is Leah Marie Liang Lewis.

She was raised in Gotha by her parents, real estate agents, alongside her sibling, sister Lydia Lewis (non-biological) who was also adopted from the same orphanage in Shanghai, China.

Growing up, Lewis took Russian ballet at Central Florida Ballet and acting lessons at age four. For education, Leah Lewis attended Thornebrooke Elementary School, where she discovered performing arts. After attending Gotha Middle School, Southwest Middle School, and The Crenshaw School, she graduated from Olympia High School. 

Her ethnicity is Chinese.

Leah Lewis has been in a long-term relationship with Payson Lewis, a singer, since well before 2016.  Payson is a singer and released his single Nothing To You in January 2020.

Leah Lewis – Career

Early years

She booked her first commercial at a young age, which was for Nature's Own Bread, and later on for The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride at Islands of Adventure. 

Lewis lived between Los Angeles and Orlando during her teen years, traveling for auditions and roles with her mother. After she turned 19, she moved to Los Angeles on her own. Her earliest role was in the film Nanking (2007) and in the short films Lullaby (2006), Gua zi (2007), etc. 

She also had guest appearances on the episode(s) of the TV series The New Adventures of Old Christine (2006), Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything (2015-2016), in the TV film Fred 3: Camp Fred (2012), and the main role of Leah in Paloozaville (2006).

Lewis also auditioned for The Voice in 2013. As a singer, she has performed with Natalie Cole and Sting in a benefit to raise funds for UNICEF.
