Margaret Qualley began her career as a model and walked the ramp for famous brands before quitting in only 5 months. Instead, she followed in her mother's footsteps to become an actress. Well-known for her role in Death Note, the young actress has worked alongside famous names including Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Margaret Qualley was born on October 23, 1994, in Montana, USA. Her full name/birth name is Sarah Margaret Qualley, her mother is actress Andie MacDowell, and her father is former model, rancher, model, contractor, and musician Paul Qualley.

She has two older siblings- a brother named Justin Qualley and a sister named Rainey Qualley, who is also an actress, dancer, model, and singer-songwriter. They all were raised in Asheville, NC. But when she was 5 years old, their parents separated so she spent her time equally with each parent.

Growing up, Margaret Qualley was trained as a ballerina. At the age of 14, she studied at the North Carolina School of the Arts and later studied at the American Ballet Theatre in New York. So, she later attended Professional Children’s School, London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and New York University.

Her ethnicity includes Norwegian, Scottish, Irish, and Welsh.

Margaret Qualley was in a relationship with American actor Nat Wolff. The two had started dating after meeting in 2011. The relationship seemed perfect but the fans were shocked to learn that she and her boyfriend had indeed broken up in 2014.

She was also rumored to be dating Brad Pitt. The rumors were sparked when she was pictured hugging him while on the set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. However, the rumors have been confirmed to be of a false nature. 

In June 2019 she dated comedian Pete Davidson for four months who was engaged to singer Ariana Grande and has flings with Kate Beckinsale and supermodel Kaia Gerber. She briefly dated Shia LaBeouf from late 2020 to January 2021.

In August 2021, Qualley was rumored to be dating Jack Antonoff and later their relationship was confirmed in October 2021 after being pictured showing PDA in NYC. In May 2022, it was confirmed that the couple had now gotten engaged. They married on August 19, 2023.

She is yet to have children with her husband. There are no rumors of divorce surrounding the pair.

Modeling

At the age of 16, she opted to pursue a career in modeling. In 2011, when Qualley was just 16, she made her debut as a model during New York Fashion Week, walking for Alberta Ferretti. She then modeled for Valentino, Chanel, Vogue, W, Teen Vogue, Interview, Vanity Fair, and Nylon.

But 5 months into it, Qualley quit modeling. She said, "It made me feel silly, to be honest." At the same time, she had taken her first improvised-acting class and against all her childhood inclinations, she fell for acting.

Acting career

In 2013, Margaret Qualley visited her then-boyfriend Nat Wolff on set and she got the part in Gia Coppola's film Palo Alto. After her initial success in acting, Qualley was cast in The Leftovers (as Jill Garvey), The Nice Guys (2016), The Vanishing of Sidney Hall (2017), Novitiate (2017), Death Note (2017), IO, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (as Kitty Kat).

Co-stars

On the set of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Qualley has worked with Dakota Fanning, Damon Herriman, Luke Perry, Julia Butters, and Timothy Olyphant.
