Greg Daniels was born Gregory Martin Daniels on June 13, 1963, in New York City, U.S.A. His mother’s name is Judy Daniels, who worked at the New York Public Library and his father’s name is Aaron Daniels, a resident of ABC Radio Network.

Greg Daniels met his future wife Susanne Dari Lieberstein when working at Saturday Night Live. Lieberstein answered phones for Lorne Michaels who is the sister of Paul Lieberstein.
Lieberstein and Daniels soon started dating and soon were in love. He and his longtime girlfriend tied the knot on 15 September 1991. The married couple is blessed with four children- daughters Maya, Charlotte, Haley, and son Owen Daniels.

Greg Daniels – Career
Early Days
While still a University student, Greg Daniels along with Conan O'Brien wrote for the Harvard Lampoon. After graduation, both were employed at the Not Necessarily the News but were later fired due to budget cuts. In 1987, Daniels, O'Brien, and Lorne Michaels were hired as Saturday Night Live writing staff.
They showed impressive skills in writing for which they were awarded the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music, or Comedy Program. After a few years at Saturday Night Live, Daniels left the show in 1990.
Greg Daniels then had the opportunity to join the writing staff of The Simpsons in 1993. For his incredible work with The Simpsons, The show was awarded the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program.

Film, TV Series
Daniels decided to leave The Simpsons and join King of the Hill. While working on the latter show, Daniels also focused more on other shows. In 2005, he worked hard on his new project titled The Office. Even though the first season did not see much success, the second season was a major hit!
The Office won the award for Outstanding Comedy Series, while Greg Daniels was awarded Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series at the Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. With the success of The Office, Daniels also co-created another show titled Parks and Recreation.
Like The Office, the first season of Parks and Recreation was not much appreciated. But the second season became a success. Over the years, he has also worked with the development of other programs namely, Friday Night Dinner, Not Necessarily the News, Seinfeld, and The Mindy Project.
