Who is Jenna Fischer?

Jenna Fischer is an actress by profession and American by nationality. She is well known for starring in The Office as Pam Beesly.

Jenna Fischer was born on March 7, 1974, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the U.S. Her full name/birth name is Regina Marie Fischer. She was born to parents James E. Fischer, an engineer, and mother Anne Fischer, a history teacher. She is not the only child of her parents and has a younger sister named Emily Fischer, who currently works as a third-grade teacher.

Fischer attended Pierremont Elementary School, located in Manchester, Missouri, and later transferred to Nerinx Hall High School in Webster Groves, Missouri. After she graduated from high school, Fischer enrolled at Truman State University as a pre-law history major. But she changed her mind and changed her major to a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre.

Jenna Fischer’s childhood friend Sean Gunn introduced her to his brother screenwriter James Gunn. Fischer was an aspiring actress back then. Soon Jenna Fischer and James Gunn started dating.

On October 7, 2000, Gunn and Fischer got married. The couple's happiness lasted around 7 years, after which they announced their separation in September 2007. Their divorce was finalized in 2008 and never had children together.

Jenna Fischer then moved on with screenwriter Lee Kirk. The two were happy together and in love. In June 2009, they announced their engagement. Next year on July 3, 2010, Fischer and Kirk tied the knot.

A year later, in May 2011 the couple shared the good news- Fischer was pregnant! They became parents for the first time when their son Weston Lee Kirk was born on September 24, 2011. Their second child, a daughter named Harper Marie Kirk was born on May 25, 2014.

As of now, Kirk and Fischer are happily married with no rumors of divorce or extramarital affairs.

Jenna Fischer – Career

Early Days

Jenna Fischer’s early career started when she was still a University student. While there, she toured and performed with the Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre group. In 1998, she moved to Los Angeles. There she was a regular performer at the Zoo District Theatre, where Fischer was spotted by a talent scout. The agent gave her an opportunity to sign a signing contract with them.

Although she had a singing contract, Fischer had a hard time landing roles. It took her three years to land the role of a waitress in the sitcom Spin City in 2001. Gradually, she landed small roles in shows such as Employee of the Month, Lucky 13, and The Specials.

LolliLove and thereafter

Tired of her slow-growing career, she started to take matters into her own hands. Jenna Fischer along with her then-husband James Gunn and some friends wrote, directed, and starred in their own documentary LolliLove in November 2004. For this, she was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Emerging Actor Award.

Fischer in 2005 landed the role of Pam Beesly in the hit NBC series The Office. During her interview the same year, she shared, "Honestly it would be great to get to play Pam for a long, long time .... I don't have real big aspirations to be a movie star. I would love to be on a long-running hit TV show. You end up playing a defining role."

Over the years, she has appeared in Slither, The Brothers Solomon, Blades of Glory, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, The Promotion, Solitary Man, A Little Help,  Hall Pass.
