Steve Carell is an American actor, writer, and director who has been in Hollywood for the last two decades. Wanting to become an attorney but failing to answer a simple question, he opted to become an actor.

Steve Carell was born on August 16, 1962, in Concord, Massachusetts, U.S.A. His full name/birth name is Steven John Carell. His mother is Harriet Theresa, a psychiatric nurse, and his father is Edwin A. Carell, an electrical engineer. His parents raised him alongside his three older brothers, him being the youngest.
His eldest brother Gregory Carell works as an architect, his second eldest brother Timothy Carell is an engineer and his third brother Michael Carell owns a landscaping business.
As a teen, Carell was very athletic. When he was a student in high school, he played ice hockey, fife, and lacrosse. Well into his early adulthood, he was a goalie on the school's Big Red hockey team for four years while also an active member of Burpee's Seedy Theatrical Company. In addition, Carell also performed as an amateur DJ under the name "Sapphire Steve Carell" at WDUB.

Steve Carell changed quite a number of schools. He was educated at the Nashoba Brooks School, The Fenn School, and the Middlesex School. After graduation, he enrolled at Denison University, Ohio. In 1984, he graduated from the same with a degree in History.

Steve Carell has been a married man for the last 23 years! He had tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Nancy Carell on August 5, 1995. Nancy Carell is a Saturday Night Live alumni. They were young lovers before they had gotten married. They had met when Steve Carell was teaching an improvisation class at Second City and his future wife was a student there.
The couple has two children together. They had become parents for the first time in May 2001 when Nancy Carell gave birth to their daughter Elisabeth Anne "Annie" Carell. Their second child, a son named John "Johnny" Carell was born on June 2004.
Their marriage seems to be solid, healthy, and happy with no rumors of extra-marital affairs or divorce.

Steve Carell – Career
Early Career
After graduation, he worked as a mail carrier in Littleton, Massachusetts. After working there for about seven months, his boss told him he was slow at work and needed to be fast. So, Steve Carell quit the job. Carell wanted to become a lawyer but while filling out outlaw school applications, he decided to change his career path after realizing that he would not enjoy being a lawyer.
Steve Carell then toured with a children's theater company followed by his work with the comedy musical Knat Scatt Private Eye and roles in several commercials. Carell in 1991, had the opportunity to perform with the Chicago troupe The Second City, where Stephen Colbert was his understudy.
Soon, Steve Carell landed a minor role in Curly Sue, and in 1996, he was cast in The Dana Carvey Show. Although The Dana Carvey Show lasted only seven episodes, it has been known to be Carell’s breakthrough show. Gradually, Carell made his appearances in Come to Papa, Over the Top, Just Shoot Me!, Watching Ellie, Melinda and Melinda.

In 2005, he was cast in the NBC series The Office. Carell played the role of Michael Scott. Although the first season did not get high ratings, the subsequent season became a major hit. Carell even had a salary of $175,000 per episode during the third season of the series.
