Mena Massoud is an actor by profession and Canadian by nationality. He is best known for his work in Disney's live-action remake of Aladdin, the 2015 Canadian series Open Heart, and the Amazon Prime series Jack Ryan.

Before fame
Massoud began his career in 2011 and his debut was with the TV series Nikita. The same year he guest-starred in Combat Hospital, had a main voice role in The 99, and had a recurring role in Poser. In 2012, he had roles in the TV series Cut to the Chase and King.

Breakthrough role
Finally, in 2015, Mena Massoud landed his breakthrough role as Jared Malik in the series Open Heart. This was followed by roles in Saving Hope (2017) and Jack Ryan (2018).
In films, Massoud has portrayed roles in Ordinary Days (2017), Run This Town (2019), 2019’s Aladdin as Aladdin, and Strange but True (2019). He also lent his voice to the 2016 video game Watch Dogs 2.
