Who is Zachary Wilson?

Zachary Wilson is a football player by profession and American by nationality. He is well known as a quarterback for the New York Jets of the National Football League after being selected by the Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Zachary Wilson’s birth took place on August 3, 1999, in Draper, Utah, USA. His birth name is Zachary Kapono Wilson and was born to his father Michael Wilson and his mother Lisa Wilson (née Neeleman). His parents raised him alongside his five siblings- older brother Josh Wilson, younger brothers Isaac Wilson, and Micah Wilson, older sister Whitney Kiana Wilson and younger sister Sophie Wilson.

He has other famous family members - airline entrepreneur David Neeleman and HealthEquity co-founder Stephen Neeleman. Like some of his family members, he was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as a child.

Wilson began to play for BYU in the 2018 season. In 2018 he played 9 games among which he started 7, in 2019 he played and started all 9 games, and in 2020 he played and started all 12 games. His stats for college football through all three seasons are- 566 Cmp, 67.6 Pct, 7,652 Yds, 56 TD, and 15 Int in passing while having scored 212 Att, 642 Yds, and 15 TD in rushing.

He had been named MVP at the 2018 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, and 2019 Hawaii Bowl. He was also named the offensive MVP of the 2020 Boca Raton Bowl.

Zachary Wilson was selected by the New York Jets on April 29, 2021, as the second overall pick. He will be a quarterback for the team in the coming seasons.
