Leanne Ford’s birth took place on June 29, 1981, in Pennsylvania, USA. She was born to her mother, Jackie Ford, and her father, Mike Ford, who passed away in 2004. She is not the only child of her parents and has two siblings – her sister Michelle Ford and Steve Ford.

This is her second marriage. She previously married her first husband, Brad Schaffer, on 3 July 2010, which eventually ended in divorce.

Leanne Ford – Career

Early Career

Ford worked in the fashion industry as a fashion stylist before changing her career to an interior designer at the age of 30. With her brother Steve, who is a contractor and carpenter, Leanne Ford redesigned a grungy schoolhouse attic into a master bath. 

It was then picked up by Country Living and featured on the cover of design books, which catapulted her career in interior design.

With HGTV

HGTV reached out to her for the first time to host the show Fixer Upper. However, her first husband was not keen to be on TV. So Leanne Ford parted ways with HGTV, which later on found Chip Gaines and Joanna Gaines to feature on Fixer Upper.

In 2016, Leanne Ford was featured in Restored by the Fords. She has also worked in TV shows Rock the Block (2019), and A Very Brady Renovation (2019). Her work has also been featured in Architectural Digest, Domino, GQ, Lonny, Elle Decor, Martha Stewart, Better Homes and Gardens, Redbook, MyDomaine, and the New York Times. 

Her book, Work in Progress: Unconventional Thoughts on Designing an Extraordinary Life, co-written with her brother Steve, was released in 2019.
