Caterina Scorsone’s birth took place as Caterina Reminy Scorsone on October 16, 1981. Her birthplace is Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Her father Antonio Bruno Scorsone worked as a social worker while her mother Suzanne Rozell worked as a social anthropologist. Speaking of siblings, she has four.

Her older twin sisters (born in 1977) are Canadian Force Captain Francesca Scorsone and Jovanna Scorsone. She also has a younger sister named Deb Scorsone and a younger brother whose name is not known to the public.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, Caterina Scorsone studied at the Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. There she experienced acting when she starred in Oklahoma!, among several others. Later she enrolled at the Trinity College at the University of Toronto and graduated from the same in 2005 with a major in Literary Studies and a minor in Philosophy.

Her ethnicity is Italian, Swedish, English, and Scottish.

Caterina Scorsone is married to Rob Giles, a member of the American rock band The Rescues since June 27, 2009. The couple has welcomed two children together, both girls.

Their first daughter was born on July 6, 2012, and is named Eliza Giles. The pregnancy was written into her character's storyline in Private Practice. Scorsone delivered her second child with her husband on November 8, 2016. They have named her Paloma “Pippa” Michaela Giles and she was born with Down syndrome.

In November 2019, Scorsone announced that she was pregnant with her third child and welcomed daughter Arwen Lucinda Jane in December 2019.

After 10 years of marriage, in 2020, she filed for divorce from her husband, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of separation.

Caterina Scorsone – Career

Before fame

Scorsone started acting when she was only eight years old. She was already a regular guest on the children's TV show Mr. Dressup. As she grew up she had a more mature role to pick out from. 

She portrayed the role of Amber in 1998’s CBC Radio's Mystery Project show called, Peggy Delaney. 

Her breakthrough came with the leading role of Jess Mastriani in the Lifetime crime drama series1-800-Missing in which she worked from 2003 to 2006.

Since her breakthrough role, Caterina Scorsone has worked in Crash (2008-2009), as Amelia Shepherd in both Private Practice (2010-2013), and in Grey's Anatomy (2010, 2012, 2014- present).
