Who is Lizzo?
Melissa Viviane Jefferson, better known as Lizzo is a singer, rapper, actress by profession, and American by nationality. She has released albums Lizzobangers, Big Grrrl Small World, and Cuz I Love You.
Lizzo – Bio, Age, Parents, Siblings
Lizzo’s birth took place on April 27, 1988, in Detroit, Michigan, USA. She was born Melissa Viviane Jefferson to mother Shari Johnson-Jefferson and father Michael Jefferson, who passed away in 2010.
Her parents raised her alongside her older siblings – brother Mikey Jefferson and sister Vanessa Jefferson. The family relocated to Houston, Texas when Lizzo was 10 years old.
Education, Ethnicity
After graduating high school, she enrolled at the University of Houston. But she did not graduate and dropped out before she completed her bachelor’s degree.
Her ethnicity is African-American.

Lizzo has said that she does not ascribe to single sexuality. She has not revealed her past relationships. Currently, she is dating her boyfriend Myke Wright. The couple was first linked in March 2021.

Lizzo – Career
Early Career
When she was 14 years old, she formed a group called Cornrow Clique with her best friends. In 2011 she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and performed with numerous indie groups.
In 2012 with the group The Chalice, she released her debut album We Are the Chalice, which gained local attention.

Albums, Singles
Her solo album Lizzobangers was released on October 15, 2013, to regional and national success. The same year she toured the US and UK and also landed the opportunity to open for Har Mar Superstar.
On December 11, 2015, Lizzo released her next album Big Grrrl Small World followed by the release of her first major-label EP Coconut Oil on October 7, 2016. She released her hit single Juice on January 4, 2019, and released her third studio album Cuz I Love You on April 19, 2019.

Films, TV
Lizzo has also starred in the films Hustlers (2019) and lent her voice in 2019’s UglyDolls. She has also had appearances in Late Show with David Letterman (2014), The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2015), and RuPaul's Drag Race (2018), among others.
Lizzo- Body positivity
For years Lizzo struggled with body issues. Finally, in her adult years, she overcame her issues and now is an advocate for body positivity and self-love. Her backup singers consist of all plus-size dancers and are called the Big Grrrls.
She has worked with ModCloth's "Say It Louder" campaign and has sported FIT's plus-size outfit.
