Who is Mike Evans?

Mike Evans is a football player by profession and American by nationality. He is a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League, having played college football at Texas A&M.

Mike Evans – Bio, Age, Parents, Siblings

Mike Evans’ birth took place on August 21, 1993, in Galveston, Texas, USA. He was born as Michael Lynn Evans III to father Mike Evans Jr. and mother Heather Kilgore, who gave birth to him when she was 15. He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling, a younger sister. 

When Evans was 9 years old, his father was murdered by his maternal uncle- Sam Kilgore in 2002. The murder was motivated due to his father’s abuse towards his mother, which Mike Evans came to learn as he grew up. 

Education, Ethnicity

For education, he attended Ball High School and after graduation enrolled at Texas A&M University. His ethnicity is mixed including African-American.

Mike Evans – Girlfriend, Wife, Children

Mike Evans married his girlfriend Ashli Dotson in February 2016. He and his wife’s first child, daughter Ariah Lynn Evans was born on November 2016. They became parents for the second time after Dotson gave birth to their son Amari Evans in late 2019. Their third child together, daughter Aliyah Nicole Evans (born May 18, 2022).

He also has an older daughter named Mackenzie Evans from his previous relationship.

Mike Evans – Career

While in high school, he played basketball, and football, and ran track for the Tors athletic teams. In college, he played for the Texas A&M Aggies football team from 2011 to 2013. On January 2, 2014, Mike Evans announced that he would enter the 2014 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with the seventh overall pick and started his rookie year. 

On June 12, 2014, he signed a $14.6 million, with an $8.96 million signing bonus, four-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After years of playing for the team, Evans signed a five-year, $82.5 million contract extension with the Buccaneers with $55 million guaranteed on  March 9, 2018.
