Terence Crawford is a boxer and a top player in the World Boxing Organization (WBO).

Terence Crawford was born on September 28, 1987, in Omaha, Nebraska, United States. He was born Terence Allan Crawford to his mother Debbie Crawford and his father Terry Crawford. 

He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings- sisters Latisha Crawford and Shawntay Crawford. His father, uncle, and grandfather all trained at the C.W. Boxing Club.

Terence Crawford – Wife, Girlfriend, Children, Divorce

Terence Crawford stayed in a relationship with his longtime girlfriend Alindra Person before marrying her. In July 2020 he and his wife Person were pregnant with their sixth child. They have six children together- three daughters and three sons. 

His sons are Terence Crawford III (born March 2011), Tyrese Crawford (born March 2012), and Cari Crawford (born June 2016), and his daughters are Lay Lay Crawford (born March 2015), Tamiya Crawford (born March 2008), Trinity Michele Crawford (born Dec 2020).

There have been several cheating scandals in his relationship with Person even physically assaulting Crawford’s side chick (another girlfriend).

Terence Crawford – Career

Early Days

Terence Crawford began training as a boxer when he was seven years old. As he grew older, his wins in boxing began to rise- defeating Mikey Garcia and Danny García. In his amateur career, he was the gold medalist at the 2006 National PAL Championships, 2006 Blue & Gold National Championships, and 2007 U.S. Pan American Games Box-Offs.

Crawford’s professional career began on March 14, 2008. With a series of undefeated fights, he had hoped to compete in the Olympics. But with the defeat by Sadam Ali, he could not make it to the Olympics.

In March 2014, he was named the WBO Lightweight Champion since he never lost a professional fight.

Throughout his career, Crawford fought Lightweight boxing against Alejandro Sanabria, Andrey Klimov, Ricky Burns, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Ray Beltran, Thomas Dulorme, Dierry Jean, Hank Lundy, Viktor Postol, John Molina Jr., Felix Diaz, Julius Indongo, among others.

Terence Crawford also has played for the Welterweight division. In the division, he fought against Jeff Horn, José Benavidez, Amir Khan, etc. Over 34 fights in his professional career, he won all 34 - 25 by knockout and 9 by decision.

Terence Crawford – Legal issues

Terence Crawford was charged with theft of services, criminal mischief, third-degree assault, and trespassing. Charges of theft and assault were later dropped. The incident took place in April 2016.

He had made only a partial payment at a local car body shop as he was not satisfied with the work being done and the amount he was charged. He had intentionally lowered the car and damaged the hydraulic lift.

On September 21, 2016, Terence Crawford was found guilty and charged with criminal mischief and trespassing. The judge sentenced him to 90 days in jail but was serving 53 days. After his attorney posted a $10,000 bond, Crawford was incarcerated for only 8 hours. 

For a year he stayed away from boxing as he was charged with domestic violence and use of performance-enhancing drugs.
