Atlanta rapper Silento has been arrested on Monday for allegedly shooting his older cousin outside of Atlanta last month.

According to the DeKalb County Police Department, the 23-year-old Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) rapper, whose real name is Richard Lamar Hawk, has been charged with murdering 34-year-old Frederick Rooks in the Jan. 21 shooting.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the police had found Rooks with several gunshot wounds in a residential neighborhood in Panthersville.

Although the motive behind the murder is still unclear, several cars fled the scene and at least one gunshot can be observed in the surveillance footage obtained by investigators.

Silento has faced several legal issues in recent times. Last August he had two busts in one week in California. In one of the cases, he is alleged to have broken into a random Los Angeles home wielding a hatchet in search of his girlfriend.
