Jada Pinkett Smith’s mom Adrienne Banfield-Norris calls Red Table Talk with Olivia Jade Giannulli ‘frustrating’

Last Modified: 9th Sep

Adrienne Banfield-Norris, the mom of Jada Pinkett Smith, is not a fan of Olivia Jade Giannulli.

Earlier this month the 21-year-old social media influencer appeared on Facebook Watch’s Red Table Talk to discuss the college admissions scandal which resulted in both her parents Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli being imprisoned.

Banfield-Norris, 67, co-hosts the show with her daughter Jada Pinkett Smith, 49, and granddaughter Willow Smith, 20, and often features celebrities caught in a scandal.

“There were some things about it that were a little frustrating,” Banfield-Norris told Crooked Media’s “Keep It” podcast. “I felt like as a 21-year-old young adult, that she needed to be way more aware of what’s going on in the world, and that was a little frustrating.”

The former nurse continued, “There’s just a lot of education she needs to do for herself. But I understand that that’s the world they’re in. Her life experiences have not put her in the space where she needs to be concerned about those kinds of things, really. I don’t really know how to address that because it is about how you’re raised and what you’re exposed to.”

Giannulli’s mother Lori Loughlin has been sentenced to two months in prison while her father Mossimo Giannulli began his five-month sentence in November. The family was also fined $400,000.

On Red Table Talk, Olivia Jade admitted that it was “really bad” on paper but justified it by explaining her parents, “came from a place of just, ‘I love my kids, I just want to help my kids — whatever is best for them — I worked my whole life to provide for my family.’ I think they thought it was normal.”

Banfield-Norris was not reluctant to voice her displeasure, calling the former USC student the “epitome of white privilege.” She also admitted that she had not wanted her as a show guest.
