Condon began her career in theatres. She was 18 years old when she was cast as Mairead in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s 2001 play The Lieutenant of Inishmore. She also reprised her role at the Lyceum Theatre in 2006. In 2006 Kerry Condon was cast as Ophelia in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Hamlet. Her next famous work was in Martin McDonagh’s dark comedy play The Cripple of Inishmaan.

Kerry Condon’s debut screen role was in the episodes of the TV series Ballykissangel as Mairead Reilly. This was followed by minor appearances in the films Angela’s Ashes (1999), How Harry Became a Tree (2001), The Halo Effect (2004), Unleashed (2005), etc., and in the episodes of the TV series Born and Bred (2004). Finally, in 2005, she was cast as Octavia in the episodes of the TV series Rome.
