Texas stalker sentenced to prison for stalking Taylor Swift
A federal judge has sentenced an Austin, Texas, man, named Eric Swarbrick, to prison for 30 months. He pled guilty to stalking and sending threatening letters as well as emails to Taylor Swift’s former record label.
According to records filed in federal court, the stalker was sentenced during a hearing Wednesday in Nashville. The sentence also contained other terms including three years of supervised release.
The complaint said in 2018 Swarbrick had sent over 40 letters and emails to Big Machine Label Group, repeatedly asking the CEO to introduce him to the pop star. Over time the letters from Swift’s former record label got more violent and threatening.
It was also reported that Swarbrick himself drove to Nashville to personally deliver them on three occasions.
