Who is Kodak Black?
Kodak Black, whose real name is Dieuson Octave is a rapper, singer, and songwriter. He is famous for singles No Flockin, Tunnel Vision, and Roll in Peace and is infamous for his long list of legal issues.
Kodak Black – Age, Parents, Siblings
Kodak Black’s birth took place on June 11, 1997, in Pompano Beach, Florida, USA. He was born Dieuson Octave to his mother Marcelene Octave but the name of his father is not known. On May 2, 2018, he legally changed his name to Bill K. Kapri. His parents were migrants from Haiti.
As his father abandoned his family, he was raised by his mother in Golden Acres. He has two siblings- an older brother named John Wick and a younger brother named Lil Kodak.

Black started rapping in elementary school and visited a trap house after school to record music. He also spent his days reading thesauruses and dictionaries to further his vocabulary. But the hood lifestyle did get to him.
Along with his friends, he frequently participated in brawls and breaking and entering. In the fifth grade, Kodak Black was expelled from school for fighting, and in middle school, he was arrested for auto theft. Speaking of his childhood, he revealed that it was either "sell drugs with a gun on his hip or rap".
He earned his GED in jail in June 2018. His ethnicity is Haitian.

Although Kodak Black has been with many women, he has reportedly not been in a serious relationship. He was briefly engaged to Mellow Rackz and was allegedly having sex with her while watching the Panthers v. Canucks game in January 2022. Moreover, he has been linked to Jayda Cheaves and Cuban Doll.
Black has two children- a son named King Khalid and a daughter named Yuri from two women. King Khalid's mother is Jammiah Broomfield and Yuri's mother is real estate agent, Maranda Johnson.
It was reported in February 2022 that he is expecting a third child with Daijanae Ward and the child might be named Izzy. He is yet to marry and take a wife.

Kodak Black – Career
Before fame
In 2012, at just 12 years of age, Kodak Black joined a rap group called Brutal Youngnz followed by joining the rap group The Kolyons.
In December 2013, he released his first mixtape, Project Baby, and in December 2014 released another mixtape Heart of the Projects followed by the mixtape Institution in December 2015. But this was not how he gained his breakthrough.
Canadian rapper Drake posted a video of himself dancing to Balck’s song Skrt, which gained him instant popularity. The same month in October 2015, he was signed with Atlantic Records.

In May 2016, he collaborated with French Montana on the single Lockjaw, which peaked at 23 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
A few months later in August, his song Skrt peaked at number 10 on Billboard's "Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Singles" chart.
Kodak Black released mixtapes, Lil B.I.G. Pac, in 2016, Project Baby 2 in 2017, F.E.M.A. in 2017, and Heart Break Kodak in 2018. He has also released studio albums Painting Pictures (2017) and Dying to Live (2018).

Kodak Black – Controversy
In January 2017, Kapri broadcasted on Instagram himself with a group of men in a hotel room accompanied by a sole woman, who performed oral sex on them. The same year in June, he wrote on Instagram of his preference for light-skinned women over dark-skinned women.
He also stated that light-skinned women are easier to break down, black women are "too gutter" and he dislikes his own skin color.
Shortly after rapper Nipsey Hussle was shot dead in April 2019, he offered to "wait" for Hussle’s girlfriend Lauren London. He said that he'd "give her a whole year" if she "might need a whole year to be crying and s*** for him."
In late April 2018, he called rapper T.I.'s wife Tameka Harris aka Tiny ugly and a "pig".

Kodak Black – Arrests
The controversial rapper has a long history of arrests and legal issues. While still a young man, Kodak Black was placed in a youth detention center three times in one year and was placed under probation.
In October 2015, he was arrested in Pompano Beach followed by a charge of robbery, battery, false imprisonment of a child, and possession of cannabis.
In April 2016, he was arrested in Florida and charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana, and fleeing from officers. A month later, he was arrested again.

A female victim detailed that in February 2016 after a performance in Florence she had accompanied him to his hotel room where he allegedly raped her. On December 1, 2016, he posted a $100,000 bond.
He was arrested in February 2017 and on May 4, 2017, he was sentenced for violating his house arrest. Black was released on June 5, 2017, with a year of house arrest and five years of probation.
In January 2018, he was arrested for child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and marijuana possession, among others. He had been streaming Instagram live in which he passed marijuana and a gun around a small child. He was again released on August 18, 2018.
After failing to appear in court in April 2019 three times, he was sued for over $500,000. On April 17, 2019, he was arrested trying to re-enter the United States from Canada with weed and a Glock in his car followed by release the very next day.
On April 24, 2019, Kodak Black’s tour buses were searched by the FBI, and weapons were found.
