Luke Perry was born on October 11, 1966, in Mansfield, Ohio, U.S.A. as Coy Luther Perry III. His father Coy Luther Perry Jr. worked as a steelworker while his mother Ann Bennett was a homemaker. He was raised in Fredericktown, Ohio along with his three siblings - sisters Amy Peery, Emily Bennett, and brother Thomas Perry.

Perry was educated at Fredericktown High School, where he was the school mascot. His ethnicity includes English, Scottish, Irish, German, Welsh, and Dutch.

Luke Perry dated Rachel Minnie Sharp. After getting engaged to his girlfriend, he married her on November 20, 1993. Their first child, a son named Jack Perry was born on June 15, 1997. The couple was blessed with a daughter named Sophie Perry on June 7, 2000.
But the marriage did not last, ending in divorce. Luke Perry and Rachel Minnie Sharp divorced in 2003 and shared the custody of their children. However, the reason for the divorce was not shared with the public.
He has also been in a relationship with A-list actresses including Kelly Preston, Kristy Swanson, Yasmine Bleeth, Shannen Doherty, Renée Zellweger, and Rebecca Gayheart.

Early Days
Shortly after graduation from high school, Luke Perry moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. To get through he worked several odd jobs as a paver. The struggling actor even auditioned for 215 acting roles in New York before finally appearing in a TV commercial.
After that, Perry appeared alongside Alice Cooper in Twisted Sister’s music video for their song Be Chrool to Your Scuel.
Soon he was cast in daytime soap operas Loving (1987–1988) and Another World (1988–1989). Luke Perry’s career really started to take off when he landed the role of Dylan McKay on Fox’s Beverly Hills, 90210. The role provided him the name of a teen heartthrob.

But as the series was a teen drama, he decided to leave the series in 1995, hoping to land some adult roles. The same year he starred in the Italian movie Vacanze di Natale '95. For the next three years, Luke Perry starred in Normal Life (1996), Riot (1997), and The Fifth Element (1997). But in 1998, Perry had to return to Beverly Hills, 90210 due to financial issues. However, he did not reprise his role in the spin-off series titled 90210.
Over the years he has starred in The Triangle (2002), Oz (2001-2002), Jeremiah (2002-2004), Windfall (2006), The Sandlot: Heading Home (2006), A Gunfighter's Pledge (2008), The Rocky Horror Show (2001), When Harry Met Sally (2004), Detective McLean: Ties That Bind (2015), Hallmark Channel movie Love in Paradise (2016), Once Upon a Time In Hollywood (2019).

In addition, Luke Perry is also a voice actor. He has lent his voice in The Simpsons (1993), Johnny Bravo, Family Guy, The Incredible Hulk, Biker Mice from Mars, Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Realm, and The Night of the Headless Horseman.
Moreover, Perry has guest starred in Spin City (1997), Will & Grace (2005), Will & Grace, What I Like About You, Law & Order: SVU 2008), Criminal Minds, among others. Currently, Luke Perry portrays Archie's father, Frederick "Fred" Andrews in the teen drama CW series Riverdale.

On March 4, 2019, Perry was confirmed to be dead following a massive stroke on Feb. 27. He was 52. The news of his ill health and hospitalization hit the same day Fox announced it's revival of Beverly Hills, 90210 series.
